Run Background Check for Existing Driver

Different authorization types can be linked to different background check packages, so an additional background check can be run on an existing driver. Alternatively, you can run an additional background check for the same authorization type at a later date.  Both options use the Edit function in the Drivers module.

  1. Open the Drivers module of the account you plan to edit.
  2. Select a driver. Under the action menu, click Edit.

  3. Under the Authorizations tab or group, click Add Authorization
  4. Select the authorization type from the drop-down menu.  A check mark next to the authorization type indicates that the selection will trigger a background check.

Select additional Effective and Expiration Dates.

The background check status will change to Order Background Check.
  5. Click Edit Driver

Selecting an authorization and clicking Edit Driver will trigger the background check by sending an email invitation to the driver. The email contains a link and instructions for the Driver on how to proceed.

Add Work Location to Driver Information

A work location is required for the background check to run. Work location may be specified for a driver by entering a zip selecting Get city, state. If a zip code is not provided for a driver, the system will use the city and state on the driver’s Quadra account record.

Authorization Types that will trigger a background check will be indicated by a check mark.

For Authorization Types, note that the Effective Date will default to the day that the background check status changes to 'Clear'. The Expiration Date will default to the date determined by the number of days required for re-authorization as defined in the Administration module.
